Pickup riders have to rescue the bronc-buster (if he's still aboard), then catch a still-bucking bronc, all while thundering around a dusty arena at full gallop. I can't imagine more stimulating material for an artist who enjoys painting horses and action (that would be me).

I've begun to experiment with texturing my canvases before painting them, and this gives me a fabulous surface on which to achieve lost edges, layering, and looseness of paint. I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
