Alaskan Gold
oil on canvas mounted on panel, 30 x 40

On a previous trip to Denali National Park in Alaska, we were absolutely blessed to see this gorgeous boy feeding in a pond in the tundra below us; his antlers were a helluva lot bigger than anything we've ever seen in the Lower 48 (we referred to them as "4x8 sheets of plywood"). He had a split in one ear, so we dubbed him "Split-Ear" and referred to his pond the same way. A magical, incredible moment watching him.
