Snowdog
oil on canvas mounted on panel,

We had a great winter trip to Yellowstone NP at the end of February 2004 and saw more coyotes than we'd ever seen there. The best images came at the end of the trip on a morning of bright sunshine; this gorgeous canine walked around, plopped down, stood up, howled, and generally went on about his business within 20 yards of the road...and I got it all on film. This is one of the first results of that experience, and it was definitely heavily influenced by one of my "art gods", Wayne Thiebaud.
