I never tire of traveling to the National Bison Range, a short drive from my home here in western Montana, and observing whatever can be seen. Almost always, I encounter bison there, and in the summer - as the season moves towards the rut - the bulls get increasingly irascible and confrontational. This bad boy is a prime example, and I found him irresistibly charismatic, especially with the scars on his side. The bulls almost always seem to be surrounded by and layered with dust from all their wallowing, so I utilized that natural combination here.
